Zoryana holds a BA and Masters in Ukrainian Philology from Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Ukraine; H.Dip in Further Education, and Masters in Adult and Community Education from Maynooth University.
As an adult and community educator she has worked with community groups in county Kildare; have been lecturing Philosophy of Adult Education with the Department of Adult and Community Education, MU; facilitated/freelanced with Leargas National Agency and Partners Training for Transformation, with a specific interest in Freirean approach.
Prior to joining the College Connect team, she worked as a Community Education Outreach worker (KWETB) supporting community groups with educational processes, developing curriculums, and mentoring tutors to work with groups in a community education approach. She is involved in local community development as a director for County Kildare Leader Partnership representing Community as well as through Kildare Integration Network and other community groups.
In Ireland, Zoryana has spent 6 years living in the Direct Provision System. This experience shaped me into the person she is today. It prompted her to go back to university as a mature student, to make meaning of her experience with the help of education.
Zoryana truly believes that education can change people’s lives and that people have the power to make the world a better place for everyone. She is passionate about social justice, diversity and inclusion, and write on topics of adult education, Freirean philosophy, voice and experiences of asylum seekers and refugees.
